Senior Associate, Finance - FP&A

Job Summary

GLG is seeking a Senior Associate to join the Finance team to partner with our APAC business leaders to help accelerate profitable growth and drive strategy initiatives.  This position will be an important contributor, connecting business teams and finance.  This position will be in our Singapore office and report to the Head of Finance, APAC

We are seeking a highly motivated individual who demonstrates strong learning abilities, strong communications skills, and ability to work with stakeholders across different functions and locations; is a strong self-starter with solid analytical and critical thinking capabilities; and has a get-things-done attitude. This role is a great opportunity to develop finance partnering capabilities and enhance business acumen.

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Operational Reporting and support – Establish and constantly improve several key operational reporting for the region, to enable business leaders to have visibility of business drivers.

These include: 

  • Monday Morning Meetings – Consolidate presentation materials from multiple departments, run the presentation, pipeline and
  • KPIs, address any questions arising from attendees
  • Produce Margin Reports
  • BOE report – Business and pipeline
  • Gross Profit Margin summary
  • And other reports

Finance Operations Support – Investigate and respond to queries from Business Development Teams and Client Service Teams in regard to finance related matters.

  • Liaison point between business leaders and accounting team on revenue recognition and timing issues; advance common understanding and help resolve issues on a systematic basis (process writing, training)

Financial Planning and Analysis 

  • Budgeting and Forecasting – Support the country controllers in preparation of quarterly business reviews forecasts and budgeting process
  • Financial analysis – assist in adhoc analyses to support business decisions

Reporting and Data accuracy – Collaborate closely with Accounting team to ensure reporting accuracy, and drive process improvements.  Perform analyses to monitor business performance and address financial and operational questions.  

  • Produce and deliver presentations to leaders in region or outside, on ad hoc topics
  • Lead the region’s productivity efforts through training sessions across countries

An ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Undergraduate degree or higher from a top tier university.
  • Accounting training and experience strongly preferred  
  • Relevant 2 to 5 years of work experience in regional or in-country FP&A support
  • Strong communications and inter-personal skills
  • Strong service-oriented and business acumen attitude to support business leaders and team members to drive business performance
  • Excellent attention to details, analytic consistency, accuracy and data integrity
  • Ability and initiative to handle increasing responsibility over time
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Office products including MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
  • Fluency with SQL preferred
