Network Engineer

About the Team 

We are looking for a Network Engineer to be a part of the Global Network Engineering Team where you will help build and operate GLG’s network infrastructure.

What You Will Do:

  • Support of the company’s Global wired, wireless and Cloud infrastructure.
  • Optimize stability, availability, reliability, and performance of networking infrastructure.
  • Assist in resolving escalated incidents from and in collaboration with our production support team
  • Utilize configuration and deployment tools shared across the org, including initial and ongoing support.
  • Actively communicate current issues, upcoming changes, etc. to staff/users
  • Find opportunities for improvement within the network and make recommendations based on best practices and observations.
  • Develop and maintain support maintenance, procedural, and other documentation.

 Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Administration /Support of LAN/WAN
  • Administration /Support of Wireless Network
  • Administration /Support of Firewall/VPN/PaloAlto/Panorama
  • Working with Carriers and Communication Providers on circuits delivery
  • Administration of cloud-based network and security services – AWS / Azure / CloudFlare / WAF

Knowledge and skills:

Strong hands-on experience with:

  • LAN/WAN technologies throughout a global infrastructure 
  • Firewall/VPN (Palo Alto, Panorama)
  • Switches – Cisco Catalyst/Nexus, Meraki switches
  • Meraki WiFi implementation
  • AWS Cloud Network and Security architecture

Strong understanding of the following concepts/technologies:

  • L2/L3 LAN/WAN technologies such as TCP/IP, BGPv4, EIGRP, OSPF, Route Redistribution, HSRP, STP, LACP, VPC, NAT, DNS
  • 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax, RF, and WLAN fundamentals
  • user authentication, authorization and Identity management products and technologies such as: 802.1x, TACACS, Radius, and Cisco ISE.
  • Packet capturing tools
  • Network Monitoring tools (such as SolarWinds, Logic Monitor, Manage Engine)
  • Scripting and automation experience – Python, Ansible, Terraform desired.
