Director of Strategic Initiatives

Reporting directly to the Chief Strategy Officer, the Director of Strategic Initiatives will support senior GLG leadership by delivering projects and analysis related to strategy development, planning and implementation. This role is a key enabler for transformational change that will grow GLG’s position as the world’s No.1 Expert Insight company.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Transformation
- Lead work related to strategic planning and implementation projects that support GLG’s executive & senior leadership transformation priorities
- Strategy development & execution
- Collaborate with senior leaders to design initiatives, develop roadmaps, and create and refine business cases
- Align stakeholders on objectives and deliverables from projects and develop workplans to accomplish them
- Manage and monitor implementation, assess progress, and highlight areas of concern for leadership
- Financial analysis
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative internal, market and competitor analysis
- Synthesize information, generating insights and strategic implications
- Leverage analysis to identify actionable growth opportunities
- Key stakeholder communications
- Develop and coordinate presentations, communications, planning materials and other strategy-related documents for both internal (e.g. Leadership Team) and external (e.g. Board) audiences
- Corporate and business development
- Lead commercial due diligence activities in connection with M&A initiatives including data and analysis on market size, market growth, competitive differentiation and other key due diligence needs
- Frame strategic options and develop recommendations on partner/build/buy decisions grounded in quantitative analysis
An ideal candidate will have the following:
- Experience (both required):
- 2+ years of experience working at a major consulting firm or investment bank
- 2+ of experience in a strategy and/or business development (BD) role at a leading company
- Results-driven: Proven experience leading work for teams in a high-growth and/or transformational environment
- Culture: Must be experienced working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative matrixed organization
- Transformation: Proven experience executing on organizational changes, organizational design, and continuous change management
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, judgement and critical thinking skills; high integrity with the ability to build trusted relationships
- Collaborative: Ability to influence and work within the organization

Actual compensation is based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. Certain roles may also be eligible for incentive compensation.
