Business Development Associate, New Business

Experience Level: Junior

GLG is seeking a Business Development Associate to join our Professional Services Firms Sales team. In this role, you will support new business efforts for the business unit. This is a client-facing role responsible for identifying and approaching new, potential GLG users and clients. You will also provide administrative support to the VP of Business Development with the opportunity to grow into an individual hunter. You will generate new client leads and prospect new users, use GLG’s CRM to track and map prospective accounts, and work in collaboration with Client Solutions to drive adoption and usage of GLG’s services within potential and new logos.

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • "Map" client organizations to identify potential new buyers/users of GLG's services and promoters within
  • Prospect new GLG users
  • Assist with administrative tasks for new business (e.g. client invoicing, user profiles, setting up meetings)
  • Support efforts on buildout and delivery of client marketing campaigns
  • Execute outreach strategy in consultation with manager; and
  • Set up new business pitches

An ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree (required)
  • Demonstrated success selling information services and solutions is preferred; experience selling to professionals is a plus
  • The ability to build relationships with potential clients
  • Ability to work well independently and be self-motivated
  • A strong passion for persuasion, especially around complicated and intellectually challenging issues 
  • Superior verbal communication skills
  • A demonstrated ability to read and understand people
